One of our all-time, favorite homeowners asked us to do something we hadn’t tried before. Since they love the swimming pool backyard resort we created for their very beautiful property, when it was time to create a wine room in their home, they asked our team to help create the room of their dreams. Our team gladly accepted this challenge, and using all of our concrete carving, whimsy, attention to detail and love of antique, vintage and very real and rustic decor items, we created an absolutely inviting, visually inspiring, and quite delightful experience.
We were on the job from the minute the room was roughed in, and then our team went to work. We placed concrete, carved elements, added wine barrels coming out of the walls, placed the lighting, and added a water element. Everything went in just the right place for the wine tasting room and the custom wine racks were finished by our artisans as well.
The wine room is a rustic contemporary blend in a very transitional style. We have blended antique boxes with reclaimed barrels, vintage stained glass windows are paired with hand crafted upcycled wine bottle lights fitted with LED fixtures in a warm amber glow. We commissioned an artist to create a custom mural of the fields of Tuscany under the perfectly arched frame, to compliment our original art on canvas that also graces the walls. It’s almost like a cozy cave when you round the corner from the entrance to view the delicate fountain graced with grapes and vines. In another bout of inspired design we reclaimed vintage ladders, hung them from the ceiling and draped them with grapevines and lights. The ornate light fixtures in all areas of this charming celebration of vino were collected and curated by our team specifically to find their way to an environment just like this to call home.
The wine storage area is a climate controlled room with lighting, and racks to store several hundred bottles of wine. The tasting areas offer storage for wine glasses, corks and corkscrews – as well as room for a view, and a cozy nook or two to enjoy the aromas, sights, sounds and stillness that this cozily natured wine cellar has to offer.
