So many people don’t know quite what they want in a pool when they sit down with their designer. They may have an idea because they’ve seen some pictures, but do they really know what they want, or more importantly what they need?
Designers need the answers to these three questions to plan your backyard swimming pool, no matter what type of pool you will be considering.
1. What do you want the pool and the back yard to look like?
2. Who is going to use the pool?
3. How do you plan to entertain around the pool?
Often a pool is put into a back yard, not accounting for the above questions. We want to make sure that you get the look and experience that you want. We also want to make sure there are the features for the people that will be using the pool the most. Finally, we want to know how you will entertain around the pool. When entertaining at a pool party, there are usually 5-7 people in the pool at any given time, no matter the number of people at the event. One of the most important things you can do is plan your patio space and layout. Gone are the days of the pool with the 3′ walkway on three sides. Now the theme is gathering around the pool, cozy conversation areas, and a place to relax in the sun.
