That is how most of our most #epicstories begin. It’s February here in Michigan. We’re enjoying raising our flock of chicks, our pack of Golden Retrievers, and our School(s) of Koi. So of course, off to Rural King for supplies…and maybe, just maybe we’ll peek at the chicks. Just kidding, of course, a visit to see the chicks is ALWAYS on the agenda.
Enter the teeny-est tiny-est little mini chickens you’ve ever seen. Soooo cute! Assorted Bantams, Straight Run. After careful contemplation (and a bit of tugging on the heart strings)…six cute little chicks into the box for a trip to the Mansion.

Golden Sebrite Bantams One of the most stunning breed of chickens in the world. The breed originated in England in the 19th century. The Sebright breed has black lacing with either gold or silver base color. They lay very small tinted eggs, but do not lay well and are not setters. They are kept primarily for pleasure and exhibition. Sebrights have clean legs with slate blue skin, and their beaks are a dark horn color. APPROX. 100 SMALL EGGS/YEAR EGG COLOR: CREAM MATURE WT: MALE 2.5 LBS. FEMALE 2 LBS.
Buff Brahma Bantams look the same as the standard size breed with the same name except they are much smaller. These adorable feather footed bantams are very gentle in nature, easy to handle, great egg setter’s, hardy in colder temperatures, and make excellent show birds. APPROX. 100 SMALL EGGS/YEAR | EGG COLOR: BROWN | MATURE WT: MALE 2.5 LBS. Female 2 LBS.
The Porcelain d’Uccle originates in Belgium. They have beards, feathered legs, and their plumage is a beautiful blueish-white that almost seems iridescent and all feathers are tipped in white. They have good temperaments and friendly dispositions. APPROX. 100 SMALL EGGS/YEAR | EGG COLOR: BROWN | MATURE WT: MALE 1 LB. FEMALE 1 LB.
These bantam Cochins are friendly, docile chickens and tend to be submissive when kept with more aggressive breeds. The Cochins were introduced to the United States around 1850 from China. They require good quality feed and mature in 2 years. They make remarkably good pets, and a pet Cochin can live between 8-10 years. They make excellent brooders because of their calm maternal nature. *SOLD AS STRAIGHT RUN ONLY APPROX. 104 SMALL EGGS/YEAR | EGG COLOR: BROWN | MATURE WT: MALE 3 LBS. FEMALE 2 LBS.
