<ahem> we’ll go ahead and admit it, the chance to hop in the car and go to Rural King has come to mean “new chicks.” Those #luckycluckers.
So this time, we really did need something at Rural King, I think it was draino for a clogged line. And a quick peek at the chicks – and there’s new Starlight Gems! So of course, we need a couple of those. I was thinking four, but as I peeked in the chicken bins, there were two “leftovers” in each of a couple of bins, so we had to get them, feeling so sad! Then a couple of Starlight Gems (2), well, better make it 4, and how about the super cute pure white tiny fluffy one?
Into the transport hotel they go, and then the Rural King lady says as an aside, since you took those, I’d like to give you this little guy so they don’t get left, like a sad leftover. Sure thing I say as it goes into the transport hotel box.
Chirp, Chirp. Chirp, Chirp.
Lady at the checkout says…okay, how many do you have in there? As she rings them up individually counting (for anyone else also checking out at the time to hear). I don’t know why Al can’t hear much else, but he certainly heard the # of chicks called out. And then I had to admit we took one sad left alone chick too, that was gifted to our flock.
Grand total, 33, cute, adorable, teeny, tiny baby chicks. What could be better?
